‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Episode 5 Review

The Mandalorian dropped its 5th episode this morning, and to say it was a game-changer would be a slight understatement. Not only did we get the debut of an iconic figure in the eyes of Star Wars fandom, but it also seems we now know what direction this season might be headed and even some future live-action Star Wars series. Realizing that most haven’t seen the new episode at the time of this article being published, it makes sense to take a look at the top 5 moments from this pivotal episode.

5. Oh… Hello, Ahsoka!

Ahsoka Tano

That sound you may have heard this morning was the collective group of Star Wars fans squealing with joy as Ahsoka Tano exists in the live-action Star Wars universe. Rosario Dawson plays the iconic figure, and it seems as if it won’t be just for one episode. Her lightsaber action sequences were off the charts, and one would have to think that we might hear of an imminent Ahsoka Tano series shortly. This appearance was just too good to ignore.

4. Did she say what I thought she said?

Ahsoka Tano

In the beginning, Ahsoka Tano is seeking answers to a question from a villainous magistrate. We find out in the third act that she’s looking for the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn. OMG! Could Ezra be far behind?

3. Speaking of Thrawn …

The Mandalorian

Something tells me that Tano and the Mandalorian’s fate are tied together and that Grand Admiral Thrawn is working with Moff Tarken.

2. Hello, my name is…

The Mandalorian

We find out that “Baby Yoda’s” real name is Grogu and that he actually was in the temple on Coruscant when the Empire took over. We also find out that he was taken from the temple and hidden. Let’s think about this … who would have been able to hide Grog? My guess is somehow Obi-Wan is involved and initially hid him. It would be the perfect connection to the next live-action series.

1. Did anyone notice?

The Mandalorian

Has anyone noticed that The Mandalorian basically solves whatever issue is plaguing the planet he visits in hopes of finding a home for Grogu only never to get exactly what he seeks?
