Tonight’s episode of Succession was everything fans of the shows could have wanted and then some. It was full of debauchery, infighting, sex in a helicopter, and of course doing lines of coke (and that’s not all of it). The writing is stellar is so are the performances. If HBO is looking for a show to ascend to that mantle which use to be occupied by Game Of Thrones, maybe they should take a look at what they already have. Anyways, here are five takeaways from tonight’s episode.
5. Kendall vs. Shiv

Even though Kendall is just a mess, it seems that these two leading contenders to ultimately run daddy’s company are these two. They both know this. Even though Kendall and Shiv had a tender moment in episode 4, I fully expect these two to ultimately butt heads before this season is over. Could Logan eventually pick his son as a “successor” because he’s become daddy’s puppet?
4. More of them, please!

Just a simple request. Can we see more of these two? Holly Hunter and Cherry Jones were perfect additions to Succession.
3. These two are destined to split up.

Tom and Shiv will not last this season. Tom is becoming emboldened each episode, and Shiv is a bigger fan of meek Tom. At some point, she’s just going to let him know how many guys she’s hooked up with and that will be it.
2. This is about legacy.

Logan realizes that his time in the spotlight is coming to an end, and this isn’t how he wants to go out. For someone who made a career of being an alpha dog, the idea of being taken over truly eats at him. That’s why this acquisition of PGN is so important to him. It’s a chance to save his life work and relive the glory years.
1. Roman and Gerry?

Could Roman and Gerry have some twisted fetish driven connection? She seemed to enjoy telling him what to do (a little too much). That would explain why she’s so invested in him. Succession sure does leaves wanting to know more.
