Ted Lasso is easily one of the most unlikely success stories in the past 10 years on television. The show, which was born based on a fictitious character done by Jason Sudeikis during NBC Premier League advertisements, has quickly morphed from an unlikely success story to a worldwide phenomenon. Fans are taken with the boys of Richmond and their coach who exudes positivity. Would this show have done so well if the premiere had happened earlier or perhaps during the tail end of the pandemic? Who knows? What I can say is this show has one of the best ensembles in the history of television (streaming or otherwise).
We had a chance to speak to Jeremy Swift about the new season of Ted Lasso which premieres at the end of July. For those who are just jumping on this bandwagon, Swift plays the loveable Higgins who in many ways is the heart of the show.
